Abstract:
There are some dances in the Basque Country in which a wineskin is mercilessly beaten. The author of the article associates this wineskin with the Basque language, which has been under attack in recent times from different political, economic and judicial spheres.
The president of the most important bank in the Basque Country recently declared that the Basque language is an obstacle to attracting highly talented foreign professionals.
However, Mr. Patxi Saez denounces in his article that Basque companies lose many talented young Basque-speaking people because they offer them poor working conditions. Consequently, many of these valuable young Basques have to emigrate abroad in search of better working conditions.
