Abstract:
In this article, Professor Izaro Gorostidi tells us about her visit to Uruguay and her contact with the local Basque diaspora. A Basque diaspora that clings to the identity of its ancestors, and that does not understand the scant commitment of our nationalist political parties to the Basque independence cause.
The author states that this political impotence is a consequence of a lack of commitment, and stresses that only if a significant part of Basque youth acquire this political commitment will it be possible to build a pro-independence project.
